Promise
A statement by an agent that they will act in a stated way later. A promise creates no Obligation, however much another relied on it: only a transfer of Ownership binds an agent, and a promise as such is not one. But words, conduct, and circumstances can themselves move title, where that is what they mean -- "I promise you my car" may say "I now transfer my car to you." No form of words is required, and none is forbidden; what counts is what the parties consented to. A bare promise is one that moved no title, and it leaves the other agent no claim. A promise made with no intention to keep it is Fraud where it obtained value, control or agreement. A promise of harm used to force compliance is a Threat.
