Money

An IOU that agents can trade: a transferable conditional title to a stated quantity of a scarce good the issuer will deliver later. Whoever holds the note holds the title, and each trade moves it along. Money is not a bare promise to pay, because a promise by itself binds no one. It is title that moves from hand to hand on the terms the note sets.
