Monopoly

A monopoly is exclusive control of a trade or a resource. Frequently authority enforces it, and the holder did not earn it through better value. True monopolies violate free trade and make artificial scarcity. They harm consumers without consent. In logic, monopolies dissolve through competition, unless coercion supports them.
